Compare connector minimum order quantities and price breaks against expected consumption and release timing, not unit price alone. A lower quoted price can require more stock, a larger initial payment or a less flexible commitment. Build the comparison around the same approved part, evidence scope and delivery assumptions before evaluating quantities.

Separate the quantity terms
Identify the minimum order quantity, minimum release quantity and packaging increment. Ask whether a price break applies to one order, scheduled releases or an annual commitment. Do not assume those arrangements are interchangeable.
CZT's RJ45 integrated-magnetics family includes JBG110710105 as a catalog identifier. Its presence does not establish an MOQ, current price or available stock. Obtain the actual commercial terms for the final part and drawing revision.
Map demand over time
List forecast consumption, firm orders and expected release dates separately. Include the inventory already available and the assumptions behind any safety stock. A total annual forecast can conceal a short-term peak or a product change expected halfway through the year.
Ask what happens if demand changes. Confirm the applicable commitment, rescheduling and cancellation terms with the supplier. These are quotation-specific conditions; a spreadsheet should not assign favorable terms that have not been agreed.
A hypothetical price-break comparison
The figures below are invented arithmetic examples, not CZT prices or terms. Assume demand for 2,400 parts over one year and ignore freight, tax and other costs for this initial comparison.
| Purchase option | Example quantity and unit price | Initial parts spend |
|---|---|---|
| Smaller release | 600 parts at $1.20 | $720 |
| Annual quantity upfront | 2,400 parts at $1.05 | $2,520 |
| Same annual demand through four smaller releases | 4 × 600 at $1.20 | $2,880 over releases |
The upfront option saves $360 in this simplified annual comparison but requires a larger initial purchase. Its inventory implications depend on actual consumption, agreed delivery and the risk of unused stock. Those factors are not represented by unit price alone.

Compare the full purchasing boundary
Add transport, packaging, inspection and any nonrecurring cost consistently. Keep procurement spending separate from inventory held. Also examine the consequence of a drawing change or a demand reduction before all purchased parts are consumed.
Record the source and validity date of each quotation. A candidate quoted with different testing or packaging should not be presented as a directly comparable cheaper option until the scope is aligned.
Review pack sizes against actual production usage. An ordering increment can create residual stock even when the annual forecast appears to match the price-break quantity exactly.
Choose a purchase pattern that matches the product's demand confidence and agreed supply conditions. Retain the demand assumptions with the decision so that the buyer can revise it when forecasts change. The comparison then explains why a quantity was selected rather than merely celebrating the lowest displayed unit price.
