A cross-reference for replacing an RJ45 ICM should be a documented difference review, not a declaration based on a shared footprint. Mechanical fit, internal magnetic circuit, process compatibility and application verification must each be considered.
Compare the original part with candidates from the CZT integrated magnetics range. Keep original and candidate drawings visible together so every proposed substitution can be traced to evidence.
Establish the real original requirement
Identify the full original ordering code and approved drawing revision. Capture any project-specific conditions that were not included in the short purchasing description, such as an LED option, panel fit or required process instruction.
If the original documentation is incomplete, separate measured observations from confirmed requirements. A sample can help establish dimensions or mapping, but it does not reveal every material, electrical or qualification condition.

Compare independent interfaces
Start with the mechanical envelope and PCB footprint, including shield tabs and locating features. Then compare the internal magnetic circuit, center taps, LED connections and pair mapping. Review the electrical requirements and their stated measurement conditions separately.
Finally compare manufacturing requirements: packaging, placement, soldering and inspection access. A part can fit the PCB and still require a process change that the line has not approved.
Use a difference sheet with dispositions
| Review area | Original evidence | Candidate evidence | Disposition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mechanical | Drawing and assembly | Drawing and trial | Match or action |
| Circuit | Approved net mapping | Internal schematic | Match or action |
| Electrical | Controlling requirements | Applicable data | Evidence or test needed |
| Process | Released instructions | Candidate instructions | Approved change or open item |
| Qualification | Existing application record | New verification plan | Retest scope |
Give every difference an owner. “Similar” is not a useful disposition unless the reviewer explains why the difference is acceptable in this application.

Decide what must be revalidated
Use the differences to define a focused validation plan. A changed LED circuit calls for a different check from a changed magnetic topology or mounting feature. Avoid both extremes: approving without review and repeating unrelated tests without a technical reason.
For a hypothetical candidate, identical PCB holes but a different panel projection might require enclosure trial and tolerance review even if the electrical interface is acceptable. The difference sheet prevents that mechanical issue from disappearing inside an electrical comparison.
Release the substitution with conditions
The final record should identify the original requirement, accepted candidate, approved deviations and completed verification. State which product configuration the approval covers.
Purchasing should use the exact reviewed model and document revision. If a later order changes an option or suffix, return to the difference sheet rather than assuming the cross-reference covers the entire connector family.
Connect this review to CZT product information
Catalog references to discuss are listed below. Use the identifiers to request the current drawing and confirm the configuration required by your application.
| Catalog reference | Product information | Drawing record | Reference inquiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| JDGD14100001 | RJ45 ICM catalog-listed 1000BASE-T 1-port type, JDGD14100001 | Listed PDF | Ask about this reference |
| JDDD14530004 | RJ45 ICM catalog-listed 1000BASE-T 1-port type, JDDD14530004 | Listed PDF | Ask about this reference |
A catalog drawing reference is a starting document, not a substitute for reviewing its revision, options and suitability for the complete assembly.

Discuss a drawing, sample or quotation
Share the part or family reference, current drawing revision, operating conditions and quantities. Include the specific checks described in this article so the inquiry identifies both the component and the evidence needed for your decision. Confirm sample availability and the proposed scope with the supplier.
