An OEM request for RJ45 jacks, plugs or cable assemblies should use different requirement pages for each purchasing object. They share a familiar mating interface, but they do not need the same engineering inputs or acceptance evidence.
Start with the CZT socket and network-accessory range and related RJ45 products. Identify whether the request concerns a board component, a termination component or a finished assembly before comparing quotations.
Use one cover sheet and separate technical pages
The cover sheet can contain the application, project stage, quantities, requested schedule and document list. The technical page should then describe the actual object being sourced.
For a jack, the critical inputs include mounting geometry, footprint, shielding and any auxiliary connections. For a plug, provide the cable construction, termination method and tooling requirements. For a finished cable, provide both ends, wire map, length, labels and required inspection.

Choose the appropriate page
| Purchasing object | Essential attachments |
|---|---|
| PCB jack | Footprint, enclosure constraints and connection definition |
| Cable plug | Cable dimensions, conductor construction and termination requirements |
| Coupler or accessory | Both mating interfaces and mounting detail |
| Cable assembly | End-to-end drawing, wire map and length definition |
| Custom variant | Marked differences from a named baseline |
Separate required characteristics from preferences. If a field is unknown, assign a clarification owner rather than inserting a copied value from an unrelated product.
Specify the evidence to accompany samples
Ask for the drawings, process instructions and inspection records relevant to the selected object. Avoid a generic demand for every available certificate or report. The purpose is to support a defined design or purchasing decision.
For cable assemblies, distinguish continuity records from any required transmission-performance evidence. For board components, distinguish a component drawing from the completed panel-fit and assembly verification that the customer must perform.

Compare quotations on the same scope
Check the offered model, options, packaging, documentation and tooling or sample charges. Identify the basis of minimum order quantities and delivery estimates. A lower price for a different cable, reduced test scope or different package is not a direct saving.
For a hypothetical comparison, two suppliers may quote the same nominal cable length while using different measurement datums or boot structures. Returning to the technical page makes the difference visible before purchase.
Close clarifications before release
Update the requirements pages after engineering questions are answered. Link the final quotation to the agreed drawing revisions and sample configuration.
Submit the package through the RFQ page, selecting the relevant product category and attaching the object-specific information. This gives engineering and purchasing a common record and reduces the risk that a useful technical discussion is lost when the request becomes a short order description.
Connect this review to CZT product information
Catalog references to discuss are listed below. Use the identifiers to request the current drawing and confirm the configuration required by your application.
| Catalog reference | Product information | Drawing record | Reference inquiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| QWY-1062-7 | 4001 Series 8-position modular socket, QWY-1062-7 | Listed PDF | Ask about this reference |
| 8P8C TO OPEN CABLE | 8P8C-to-open-ended cable catalog record | Listed PDF | Ask about this reference |
A catalog drawing reference is a starting document, not a substitute for reviewing its revision, options and suitability for the complete assembly.

Discuss a drawing, sample or quotation
Share the part or family reference, current drawing revision, operating conditions and quantities. Include the specific checks described in this article so the inquiry identifies both the component and the evidence needed for your decision. Confirm sample availability and the proposed scope with the supplier.
