An SFP cage and receptacle RFQ should define the board-level hardware being purchased separately from the pluggable optical module. A requested module speed does not specify cage geometry, mounting method or panel fit. Give suppliers the installed interface and evidence requirements so that their quotations describe comparable parts.

State the supply boundary
Identify whether the inquiry is for a cage, a receptacle, an integrated assembly or additional accessories. Include the intended module family and actual counterpart information as application inputs, not as a substitute for the board-level part definition.
CZT's fiber-optic and pluggable-I/O family lists distinct examples such as the 10710111W028 SFP+ 1x1 Cage Assembly, 10710111W064 SFP+ 1x1 Connector and 10736111W019 QSFP28 1x1 Cage Assembly. Those catalog identities help route an inquiry. They do not prove that an arbitrary cage and connector combination is interchangeable or qualified together.
Supply the mechanical and process inputs
Provide the PCB layout or required footprint, board thickness, panel location and opening constraints. Include port count, orientation and surrounding keepouts. State the intended installation method and the factory's process constraints, then ask the supplier to confirm the proposed part's requirements.
Keep installation and extraction tooling in the discussion. A candidate can fit the final port envelope while requiring unavailable access during assembly or rework. Include any heat sink, light guide or grounding interface in the requested configuration rather than assuming it is included.
A board-level RFQ template
| RFQ field | Information to provide or request |
|---|---|
| Purchased items | Separate cage, receptacle and accessory identities |
| Installed geometry | PCB, panel, module and adjacent-part constraints |
| Assembly process | Mounting, tooling and inspection requirements |
| Performance evidence | Defined mechanical, thermal and electrical validation scope |
| Documents | Current drawings, application instructions and report identities |
| Commercial scope | Sample quantity, production breaks and included deliverables |
Mark unresolved fields as engineering actions. A supplier should state exceptions and assumptions rather than quote a visually similar product without identifying the difference.

Use samples to close the proposal
Check the quoted parts in a representative board and panel assembly with the intended modules. Record seating, latch operation and service access, then complete the relevant electrical and system checks. A mechanical trial does not by itself establish high-speed operation or host compatibility.
Compare prices only after aligning configuration, documentation and evidence scope. Confirm lead time, available variants and tooling terms with sales for the final proposal; catalog presence is not a stock or delivery commitment.
Request separate identification of any recommended accessory or mating component. An accessory visible in a catalog photograph may not be included in the quoted item. Resolve that boundary before comparing supplier prices or planning the first assembly trial.
Retain the accepted drawing revisions, sample records and quote together. This gives purchasing a definite board-level deliverable and prevents later substitutions from being approved solely because the supplier uses the same SFP or QSFP family name.
Connect this review to CZT product information
Catalog references to discuss are listed below. Use the identifiers to request the current drawing and confirm the configuration required by your application.
| Catalog reference | Product information | Drawing record | Reference inquiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10710111W064 | SFP+ 1x1 receptacle catalog record, 10710111W064 | Listed PDF | Ask about this reference |
| 10710111W028 | SFP+ 1x1 cage, 10710111W028 | Listed PDF | Ask about this reference |
A catalog drawing reference is a starting document, not a substitute for reviewing its revision, options and suitability for the complete assembly.

Discuss a drawing, sample or quotation
Share the part or family reference, current drawing revision, operating conditions and quantities. Include the specific checks described in this article so the inquiry identifies both the component and the evidence needed for your decision. Confirm sample availability and the proposed scope with the supplier.
